Social Character of the Department

The social character and the role of private enterprises.

  • Cooperation between the department and companies in the Prefectures of Thesprotia, Corfu and Epirus.

The privileged position of the department in the city centre and close to the international port, linked with the department’s distinctive character (it employs multilingual staff with a variety of business, administrative and legal know-how), will assist private companies and the public service in coping with the constantly increasing demands arising from the construction of the ‘’Egnatia highway‘’, the new international port of Igoumenitsa and the upgrading of Corfu international airport.

  • International Partnership agreements with Higher Education Institutions. The Department has signed ERASMUS collaboration agreements for student and staff exchange with the following institutions:

    1. ENGLAND: University of Salford, School of Languages

    2. GERMANY: Fachhochschule Köln,Fakultät 03, Institut für Translation und Mehrsprachige Kommunikation
    3.FRANCE: Université Paul Valéry

    4. POLAND: Warsaw University, School of Management

    5. FINLAND: Tampere University of Technology

    6. ITALY: University of Rome, La Sapienza


  • Design and introduction of assessment records for teaching.

The regular assessment of the teaching quality has already been applied in some courses as a pilot scheme
